Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a boat license to visit the Sfakia beaches?
  • No license is required to rent most of our boats. You can legally operate our no-license boats yourself, after a quick safety and route briefing from our team.
  • While it’s possible to see multiple beaches in one day, we recommend choosing 3 to 5 destinations to truly enjoy each spot. Some of the more remote beaches, like Domata or Tripiti, may require longer travel time and favorable weather.
  • Most beaches have no facilities at all — no toilets, shops, or organized services. A few places like Glyka Nera, Marmara, and Agia Roumeli offer taverns or sunbeds, but the majority are 100% natural. Always come self-sufficient.
  • Weather conditions on Crete’s south coast can change quickly. Our team checks forecasts daily, and you must follow any coast guard restrictions. If you’re unsure or want extra security, we recommend a skippered boat.
  • Our main office is located in Loutro, which is the default departure point. However, you can also start your boat trip from Chora Sfakion, Finikas Port, or Lykos Port upon request. Please note: alternative pickup points include a very low extra charge.
